'Reiki in the Garden' is a weekly email I send to all my students. It started as a distance group Reiki session, and we'd 'meet' etherically in the Healing House garden.
This week I want to talk about receiving. I sat back and fully received the Reiki that was sent, thank you so much! It was strong. I believe Reiki always IS strong but we don't always feel it. Why? Because we aren't fully into the receiving part.
If you recall, as I taught most of you, when you are doing self Reiki, do the prayers for yourself and ask yourself to be open and receive! It makes a HUGE difference! If you havent tried it, I suggest you do!
Ask yourself to receive the Reiki you are sending to yourself! AND ask yourself to be open to it on all levels...experiment with this! You will be amazed at the difference. (tell me if you're not!)
Try it out. Start doing self Reiki as normal for a bit. Then do the prayer for yourself as the sender and then a prayer as the receiver (if you dont already do this) feel any stronger? Do this for a bit, THEN ask your higher self and you on all levels and all realms to be open to it! Feel different? Heck yes!
As always, have fun with Reiki!
Hi Everyone! I hope you are well! Very sorry I missed last week completely! I am in Canada now visiting family and super busy still promoting my upcoming retreat in Ireland in May and the weekly note got away on me!
Again this week I am going to share a Reiki experience I had...
But I'll begin with asking about self Reiki...Protocol or Intuitive? Both!!!!
Almost always I do intuitive self Reiki. Where do my hands want to go, where does my body want touch...that sort of thing...
But I have also been going 'back to basics' (in my Animal Reiki Practice, anyway) and I decided to do the hand positions for self Reiki and a weird thing happened....I did the normal routine with regular light pressure, all normal and when I did Reiki over my mouth (Not actually normal protocol) I realized after a moment or two how hard I was pressing on my mouth...I was holding my mouth closed!!!! That was crazy!
By doing the Reiki protocol, it taught me something about my subconscious and how I treat myself...
Its always good to go back to basics from time to time, refresh one's knowledge and practice, and see old habits from new eyes!
Have a great week! xoS
This weeks garden is still in Costa Rica at a new animal sanctuary - Tree of Life! Patricia is open to Reiki for herself and her animals! so refreshing!
She had heard of Reiki but never tried it and she understands energy being a caregiver for the wild animals in her centre, healing, housing, rehabilitating and releasing those who can be released...she KNOWS they are energetic beings, she just never talked about it the way we Reiki types do!
So I guess this weeks topic is about approaching people and explaining Reiki. Its about finding common ground with what they already do and believe in and then applying the word and theory of Reiki to what they already understand. Its so much easier with an open person, though!
She'd heard of Reiki so I could take it from there...then I offered her a free 15 minute chair session...- Sold! She really liked it! She felt it. Then I had permission to offer it to her animals!
I had her sit with me in the session, did a little guided meditation with her and had her watch the monkeys as I offered Reiki to them.
You can apply a similar strategy to whoever you want to offer Reiki to! Offer a short session right where you are! Then see where that goes....maybe they'll want you to share it with their loved ones...have them be in the room too if that works for their situation! More the merrier when it comes to Reiki!
Some food for thought! Love you all! xoS
Hi Everyone! I hope you are well! This week I am just writing a quick note as I am off to the animal sanctuary shortly. Days fly by here!
The animals are teaching me so much! I have been shown how much improvement my focus needs! 2 of the hawks don’t want to participate in Reiki. It forces me to look at my approach and focus. My mind and intentions are still too much in the process for these high vibrational super spiritual beings! They have made me step up my game and step out of the process and the changes are immediate! One hawk went from 2 days with no contact to instant receiving once I totally removed myself mentally from the process!
Another cool thing I learned…and we all know it! If we sit up perfectly straight, we are better channels. Well I knew it in theory but the birds have shown me instantly the difference in their acceptance. When I sit super straight, right away they open up so much more! They show me over and over! I ask them to teach me and they do! So very funny this life!
Love you all so much! Take care, Sherri
Hi Everyone! Well it looks like this week is once again about what I have experienced with Reiki this week, rather than suggesting Self Reiki exercises (which is still very important!!!)
I am in Costa Rica and have been so lucky to be allowed to offer Reiki at an animal sanctuary! Dreams coming true!!!
Yesterday & today I got to offer (we offer Reiki to animals, not do Reiki to them) to an ocelot named Roy. Roy is old and having a hard time. He doesnt come out of his 'box' much (not as bad as it sounds!!!). Its hard to see in his enclosure so I thought he was in his box while I was offering Reiki. At the end of the session I put my glasses on and there he was on his perch looking at me! I was really taken by surprise! I dont know how long he was there, maybe the whole time!
But what I found the most interesting was my reaction to it! I was glad I didnt know he was out of his 'box' during the session and seemingly doing better health and mobility wise...as I think it really would have changed the energy and expectation and possibly ego that I put into the session.
Its kind of hard to explain what I felt, but I believe the less we know about a situation, the better. The less our minds, egos and expectations are in our Reiki, we hold a better, clearer and unlimited healing space! Thanks Roy!
and thank you all for being you and part of my life! Sherri xoS
Welcome Maureen to the group! Our latest Reiki Master/Teacher/Practitioner!
I'm a little late getting this message out to you all this week but I have been travelling and been having limited wifi..hope this place is better, so far so good! (it beautiful where I am so I wont rub it in!)
I wasnt sure what to write about this week and low and behold I found a topic today! Its not an exercise to do but an experience I had today!
I bought a bus ticket today for a 4.5 hour ride (heard it was quite a rough ride for the first 3 hours) and my ticket read "en pie". Well I couldnt fathom that it meant I had to stand the whole 4.5 hours! It did! I chose to take that bus anyway, get to the beach asap!!!!
I decided the best way through this was to be in Reiki meditation the whole way! Fortunately I did get to sit on the step of the bus and not stand the whole time...And I did well! I'm not going to lie and say I meditated for more than four hours...but I was zoned out for most of the trip, keeping my focus on my hara as best I could, being conscious of my posture, through the jerking back and forth etc...expecting some pretty sore muscles........It was a breeze!!!
Honestly only a Reiki state could have made the time fly by so fast and totally painlessly! I didnt ask for any outcome, I just went into the zone! I was less stiff that the people who got real seats. I watched them stretch and strain!
Please use Reiki in your life! It makes everything so much easier!
Love you all! Sher xoS
Hi Everyone! I hope you are well! I got a good bit of feedback on last weeks message, thanks! Glad it was helpful for so many of you. It was good for me too! All the advice I give…its for me as well! The Universe has been kind enough to show me just that too! Haha! You’d laugh at the times that my advice came back to me last week!
The thought comes to me that yes I want to send energy out to the crazy stuff going on in the US and how peoples rights are seriously being violated…my only hesitation is….if I send with any intention…am I going to limit what Reiki can do for this situation?
Please do what feels right in your heart to do. I suggest you keep on sending Reiki to yourself, the stronger and calmer you are the better energy you put out into the world. If you feel the need to send to this situation (and yes its needs something!) please do your best to have no expectation and no desired outcome. Don’t tie Reiki’s hands, so to speak!
Please don’t feel pity, see everyone’s light (everyone’s!!!) Maybe somehow this IS the best situation…maybe the Universe knows this is the only way we as humans are going to wake up! Stay in the light!
Love Sher xoS
Hi Everyone! Hope you are well! I’ve been hearing from friends lately and many of them are going through difficult times right now. Different stories, same theme. Of course I am going to say that now id the best time for self Reiki…blah blah blah…
…but I know myself when I am really sick or very worried or (sick from worry!) that is the hardest time to connect, focus…
All I can say is don’t stop trying, but better yet, ask for help! Ask a friend to hear you, no advice, merely witness. Ask one of us to send some good energy (call it Reiki if it needs to have a name!).
I wont stop saying how critical self care is and how hard it can be to put ourselves first. Truth!
Next week I may suggest we send Reiki to the global racism fiasco but this week lets start in our own personal backyards. Our inner selves. Please go within, with energy and intention, and look at your deep needs and start addressing them. Then we can look outside and if it feels genuine, offer to others.
